Reach Out programme objectives
The Reach Out programme objects are:
- Provide in-depth, quality and accessible information on mental health issues for young people
- Provide signposts to appropriate sources of support for young people going though a tough time
- Develop a positive online community that promotes mental health and well-being, offering support to young people that need it
Young people have told us that:
- They often want to explore sensitive issues anonymously rather than face-to-face
- They want simple, relevant and meaningful information that speaks to them in ways they understand
- They want that information 24 hours a day via a medium they feel comfortable with
|
Young people on Reach Out are currently looking for information on:
- depression and mental health
- friends and relationships
- school and college
- alcohol and drugs
- family issues
- sex and pregnancy
- sexuality and coming out
- loss and grief
- eating habits and feeling healthy
