About us

Inspire Ireland Foundation is a charitable organisation that helps young people lead happier lives. We are part of an international network of foundations with the same mission, operating in Australia and the USA. Inspire Ireland achieves its mission through the delivery of ReachOut.com, an online service to help young people aged 16-25 get through tough times.

The Inspire Foundation was established in Australia in 1996 in direct response to Australia’s then escalating rates of youth suicide. Combining technology with the direct involvement of young people it delivered an innovative and practical online programme that helps prevents youth suicide and improves young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

A feasibility study, prepared by McKinsey & Co, identified three key in criteria determining Inspire’s ReachOut.com service’s applicability to Ireland: a clear mental health need; high technology and media consumption; and a good fit for ReachOut.com within Ireland’s existing services.

Working together
To deliver a successful service in Ireland we are building an Inspire community of young people, sector partners, professionals, families, donors, teachers and supporters who care deeply for young people and their well-being.

Inspire Ireland is funded by One Foundation, a donor that has been a great supporter of youth mental health over the last number of years. The generous support of One Foundation, has allowed Inspire Ireland focus on firmly establishing its operations to build a secure foundation for its service to young people in Ireland.
